Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees Elects Officers
The Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees voted on its new officers at its May Meeting on Monday night, with Gayle Sims becoming Board President by a unanimous vote.
Sims, who has served on the Board since 2017, was Board Vice President from 2021-2023.
“I am humbled to be elected and want to continue working together with the other trustees and the superintendent to ensure academic excellence is foremost for CHISD,” said Sims, a retired Human Resources Director.
Roache-Davis was a longtime CHISD Administrator who served as the principal of several CHISD campuses. First elected to the Board in 2020, Roache-Davis begins her second term as the new Board Vice President. She was unanimously elected by her fellow trustees.
“I am honored to serve in a leadership capacity on the Board as we venture into uncharted waters with numerous obstacles,” said Roache-Davis, who was the 2007 CHISD Administrator of the Year.
Ross-Bacon, who was also elected to the Board in 2020, was unanimously re-elected by her fellow Trustees as Board Secretary – a position she held in 2022-2023. Ross-Bacon founded a Pre School and is a U.S. Navy Gulf War Combat Veteran.
“It’s both an honor and privilege to be re-elected to the school board by my community and selected for a second term as Board Secretary,” Ross-Bacon said. “There’s a lot of work to do, and I’m ready for the challenge.”
