Cedar Hill ISD to Host Families First Week
For the third consecutive year, Cedar Hill ISD Family and Community Engagement (FACE) will host Families First Week.
“I’m excited to continue the tradition of Families First Week in our district,” said CHISD FACE Director Alicia Davis, who created the event in 2021.
The week starts on Tuesday with the free Family Financial Literacy Night, in partnership with Cedar Hill Money Talks, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Cedar Hill High’s Hawkins Hall, 1 Longhorn Boulevard. Cedar Hill High senior Chandler Vernon and CHISD Social Studies Coordinator Michael Clear, along with PNC Bank, have planned the event.
Wednesday is “Family Shout-Outs” where CHISD families will be featured on district social media accounts throughout the week.
Thursday is the annual “Family Talent Night” with “CHISD’s Got Talent” – the district-wide scholar talent show at the JoLynn Maddox Teaching & Learning Center, 1533 High Pointe Lane. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and it’ll be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook.
For the first time, CHISD FACE is partnering with the first place Texas Rangers for “Family Baseball Night.” They’ll host the Colorado Rockies at 7:05 p.m. on Friday at Globe Life Field in 734 Stadium Drive Arlington. CHISD-themed Texas Rangers hats will be given out, along with a ticket purchase, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are available at rangers.com/schools
Saturday will be the first “Family Basketball Night” with a UBL Semi-Pro Basketball Game at Trinity Church, 1231 Pleasant Run Road in Cedar Hill. This event is free for CHISD Scholars, $5 for CHISD Staff and $10 for general admission.
The week will wrap up on Sunday with the Cedar Hill High School Red Army Thespians’ inaugural Fashion Show at the Cedar Hill High School Performing Arts Center, 1 Longhorn Boulevard. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at chtheatre.booktix.com
