Seventeen Cedar Hill ISD Qualify for Baylor Talent Identification Program

Seventeen Cedar Hill Independent School District fourth through ninth grade scholars qualified for the Baylor Talent Identification Program (TIP).

“We officially became a Baylor TIP District this year, and we’re so excited to have 17 qualifiers,” Cedar Hill ISD Innovator Coordinator Natalie Garrett said.

Being accepted into the program gives the scholars access to a Baylor TIP Summer Camp in Waco and future programs, all the way through their high school graduation. They’ll also be recognized in ceremony at Baylor University.

In order to qualify, the scholars took an exam last February. Ten of the 17 scholars are scholars at Collegiate Academy Middle School.

CHISD, and many districts across the United States, participated in the Duke TIP Program, which started in 1980 and ended in 2020 just after the COVID-19 Pandemic started.

Baylor decided to start a TIP Program recently.

Fourth through sixth graders took the PSAT, while seventh through ninth graders took the SAT. Garrett said CHISD will continue the Baylor TIP Program, and hopefully, grow participation in it.

The qualifiers, who will be recognized at an upcoming CHISD Board Meeting, are:
