Cedar Hill ISD Releases 2021-22 TAPR Staffing Results
The Cedar Hill Independent School District recently received its 2021-22 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR). The TAPR pulls together a wide range of information on school and district staff, programs, academic performance and student demographics.
As part of the report, academic performance and district staffing is included and compared to the region and state. During the November 2022 bond and voter-approval tax rate election (VATRE) campaign, some members of the community raised concerns about the number of CHISD Central Office employees when compared to the state average.
The recently published 2021-22 TAPR shows, in the past year, CHISD was able to reduce, the number of central administrative staff from 2.9 percent to 1.6 percent. The current state average is 1.2 percent.
Also in the report, CHISD has a larger percentage of teachers on staff (53.1 percent) than the State Average of 49.3 percent, as well as Professional Support (11.4 percent to the State Average of 10.7 percent).
In regards to years of teaching experience, the average for CHISD teachers is 9 years compared to the state’s 11 year average. The teacher turnover rate for CHISD is 28.2 percent and the state reports a 17 percent turnover rate.
Data on campus leadership experience in Cedar Hill ISD shows 2.7 years of experience for campus principals when compared to the state's 6.3 years.
