Niki Edwards, formerly chancellor of Collegiate Academy/Cedar Hill Collegiate High School, has been appointed chancellor of a future early college high school that will be located in Cedar Hill High School. The school will have an emphasis on math, science and health and will open in August 2019. In collaboration with the district’s innovation committee, she will begin developing a plan and creating partnerships this summer and will take on additional responsibilities regarding district advanced academics. More details will be available this fall.
Dr. Deidrea Stevens has been named to interim chancellor of Collegiate Academy/Cedar Hill Collegiate High School. She joined CHHS for the 2017-18 school year as the dean of instruction. In short order she helped that campus increase its enrollment in AP classes. In 2017-18 CHHS students took 475 AP classes; that number rose to 757 for the upcoming school year. She has more than a decade of experience in school leadership and began her career as a middle school math teacher.
Collegiate will host a community meet- and- greet in June; a time and date will be shared the week of June 4.
