K-12 New Student Enrollment - Cedar Hill Independent School District

To make the online application efficient, please have the following documents ready to be uploaded:

Parent/Legal Guardian's Government Issued Photo Identification
Proof of Residency (a current electric, gas, water bill or lease agreement)
- Must be in the parent/guardian's name and current within the last 30 days
- If you are unable to provide this documentation, review CHISD's residency paperwork here to make an appointment.
- Out of District students MUST be approved before submitting an online application - please visit this webpage for information on student transfers.
Student's Social Security Card
Student's Shot Record
- MUST be stamped/signed by the doctor's office and ALL dates legible
Student's Certified Birth Certificate
Student's Prior Year Report Card/Transcript

My child has never attended CHISD

We are excited to have your child join Longhorn Nation!

Currently, registration for new students is 100% online. If you are registering a child who has never attended a CHISD school, you will need to first create a Family Access account.

Before you begin the registration process, please visit the SchoolFinder tool and enter your address.

My child has attended CHISD in the past (includes siblings)

If your student has attended Cedar Hill ISD in the past, but did not complete the prior school year, please follow the steps below and complete New Student Enrollment.

If your student has attended CHISD prior to 2023, and/or you do not have a CHISD Family Access Account, please create a new one.
If you have a student who is re-enrolling after a year or more and you have a Family Access Account, please log in to your account and complete New Student Enrollment.

My child is Ready for Prek/Kindergarten

Tuition-Based Prek & Kindergarten

Three CHISD elementary campuses (offer tuition-based prekindergarten and kindergarten programs.

Collegiate Prep Elementary School
High Pointe Elementary School
Lake Ridge Elementary School

Pre-K 4 tuition costs $550 per month ($275 for current CHISD employees) or free for those who qualify. Between November and January, families have an opportunity to apply to one of the three tuition-based prek or kindergarten choice programs.

Tuition-Free Prek & Kindergarten

Children may attend PreK & Kindergarten in Cedar Hill ISD for FREE if the parent/guardian is a Cedar Hill ISD resident, the child is 3- or 4-years-old by September 1 and the child meets one of the following criteria:

Income Eligible - Qualifies for free or reduced lunch.
Eligible for SNAP and/or TANF
Qualifies as an English Language Learner
Homeless
Qualifies for Medicaid
Currently or has ever been in the foster care system
Dependent of active military service member, member who was injured during active service or is the survivor of a member killed in active service
Dependent of first responder who is a recipient of the Star of Texas Award
