CTE Advisory Committee
Cedar Hill ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) values strong partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, community organizations, higher education institutions, and civic leaders. Community and industry partners are invited to serve on the CHISD CTE Advisory Committee and help shape meaningful career opportunities for our students.

The CTE Advisory Committee provides valuable insight into workforce trends, industry expectations, emerging careers, technical skills, and employment needs. Committee members collaborate with district CTE leaders and educators to review programs, provide industry-based feedback, identify opportunities for program growth, and help ensure students are developing the knowledge and skills needed for college, careers, and the workforce.

Through participation on the committee, partners have an opportunity to directly contribute to the development of a strong local talent pipeline while supporting the future workforce of Cedar Hill and the surrounding region.

Work-Based Learning Experiences
Cedar Hill ISD CTE provides students with meaningful Work-Based Learning (WBL) experiences that connect classroom instruction to real-world careers. Students have opportunities to gain hands-on experience by working with community and industry partners, participating in placements within Cedar Hill ISD departments, attending career-readiness workshops, and engaging in career-connected classroom instruction.

Through these experiences, students develop essential employability, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and workplace skills while gaining a better understanding of professional expectations. Work-Based Learning helps students build their résumés, explore career interests, establish professional connections, and apply the technical skills learned through their CTE Programs of Study.

Our goal is to move learning beyond the classroom and provide students with authentic experiences that prepare them for college, careers, and the workforce.
