My name is Vicki Marsh and I am the Librarian and Technology Liaison at Bessie Coleman Middle School. I joined Cedar Hill ISD at the start of the 2014 school year. This is my 19th year being in education, having started at Bray Elementary as a Computer teacher in 2000.
I’ve been fortunate to be able to teach and work as a librarian at all grade levels. In the past, I read books for students from Pre-K through 5th grade, in both Spanish and English. At Mountain View College, I taught Library Instruction classes on searching the internet and using online databases, so I am particularly interested in teaching our students the research skills they need for the future.
My husband and I have been married for 23 years and we have two sons and a new daughter-in-law in our blended family. We both come from very musical families who love to read books. I am a 6th generation Texan, born and raised in Austin. I attended the University of Texas and love my Texas Longhorns. I also attended Austin Community College, UT Arlington, SMU, TWU, and Mountain View College.
My hidden talent and love is Early Music – both Medieval and Renaissance. I play percussion, guitar, folk harp, and recorder.
I am very happy to be returning to Coleman this year and look forward to working with all our educators and scholars. I believe that for every reader there is a book and for every book, there is a reader. It’s my job to help readers find the book that’s “just right” for them!
