Longhorn Parents, Guardians, and Family,
As one of Waterford Oaks' Kindergarten teachers, I welcome you and your scholar to the 2018-2019 school year.
I am thrilled to be making a contribution that will last a lifetime as your scholar's teacher this year! We will be doing so many fun and exciting things. We will engage in hands-on experiences, make connections, and apply what we learn to real life. Be prepared to see your child grow academically and socially. I believe that all students can learn and that it is pertinent that scholars become a stakeholder in their education. I believe that children are afforded the best education when there are strong/healthy, open lines of communication between the teacher, the student, and the parent.
This is the start of my 13th year in education and my 10th year in the district. I earned my Associate of Science Degree from Paris Junior College and my Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Southern Arkansas University.
We as teachers, have been "charged" to continue making CHISD the "Leading Choice". This year, as we continue to build a solid educational foundation for your child, I will strive to make this school year an amazingly memorable chapter in your child's life.
I am happily married to a Dallas firefighter and I am a mother of four children which are all CHISD Longhorns. I enjoy creating memories with my family, cooking, riding bikes, dancing, and comedy.
The best time to contact me is Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.- 8:40 a.m. The best way to contact me is through Remind 101 or email.
It is very important that our kindergarten scholars learn their sight words and can fluently read them. After the scholars learn them it is pertient that they continiously study them. Please help me make sight word recognition a success. Fluently recognizing their sight words will make reading and writing a much more enjoyable and empowering experience.
I expect all scholars to take ownership for their actions and make every effort to excel in the Essential 10.
