About Me:
I’m a mother of 4. My two oldest are recent graduates (2022 Clemson University & 2022 Cedar Hill High School, who is currently in the Air Force). My last two attend Cedar Hill ISD (11th grader CHHS and 7th grader Coleman Middle School).
I am a graduate of Jackson State University with my B.S. in Child Care and Family Education, and an M.S degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught 4th grade for 14 years, 3rd grade 1 year, 1st grade 4 years, and this is my 2nd year as a Dyslexia Specialist. I was also in the Army Reserve for 8 years. And as you can see, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!
I am passionate about teaching students the phonological component of language that can strengthen their ability to read. If you have any questions or concerns about Dyslexia, I would be honored to share my knowledge with you.
Favorite quote:
"Dyslexia is not a pigeonhole to say you can't do anything. It is an opportunity and a possibility to learn differently. You have magical brains, they just process differently. Don't feel like you should be held back by it."
