About Me:

Hello Coleman Longhorns! I am Melissa Eckeberger and I joined the Longhorn Family in September of 2022. I attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University where I received my degrees in English, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and Religious Studies. 

I have been in public education for 7 years in various roles, but I have taught many scholars for many years in various settings. No matter the role, my goal is to instill a love of reading and a desire to be a lifelong learner in every scholar I teach. From the time I was in 2nd grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and began working towards that goal. In high school, I private tutored students, I homeschooled all 4 of my children, owned my own private tutoring company and even taught GED classes to single moms. 

As a teacher here at Bessie Coleman, I have a strong desire to work together with the families of my scholars. I believe that learning and teaching is a group effort and I am looking forward to getting to know each of you through your students.
