Longhorn Partners in Education
-
Longhorn Partners in Education exists to give business, civic, and faith-based organizations the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Cedar Hill ISD scholars and staff. Partners, from small organizations to major corporations, contribute to the success of CHISD by sharing expertise and resources with one or more schools or with the district as a whole.
Longhorn Partners in Education is NOT only about the dollars, but ways our community can support CHISD by providing their time, talent and treasure! When a business decides to partner with a school, they make a commitment to invest time and people resources.
The quality of a community is defined by the strength of it's public schools. While the most important "stakeholders" in Cedar Hill ISD are scholars; area businesses, organizations and groups are significantly impacted by the success of our schools.

Holdsworth Center
Holdsworth Center
Cedar Hill Independent School is one of just six school districts in Texas this year to be selected for a five-year partnership with The Holdsworth Center, a non-profit organization started by H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt. It is a five year strategic partnership that will help the district grow its own bench of strong, skilled leaders who create conditions in which teachers thrive and scholars get the tools they need to succeed. All programming and support is covered at no cost through the generosity of the H-E-B Chairman and other philanthropic supporters.
That includes:- Embedding Holdsworth District Support Team staff in each district for five years to help central office leaders design, implement and sustain their own leadership development systems
- Delivering two-year District and Campus Leadership Programs for multiple groups of central office and campus leadership teams
- Providing districts with robust tools to measure district-wide culture and staff engagement and better understand students’ social-emotional learning.

Tarleton State University
Tarleton State University
CHISD joined the Distinguished High School Partnership Program with Tarleton, which is part of the Texas A&M University System accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
As part of the partnership:
Scholars who graduate within the Top 25 percent of Cedar Hill High School or Cedar Hill Collegiate High School will earn automatic acceptance to Tarleton State. Those scholars will not have to submit ACT or SAT scores for admission, nor will they have to pay the admissions application fee.
CHISD graduates who qualify for Tarleton’s Guaranteed Award Program (GAP) will receive an award guarantee $1,000 above the GAP level for which they qualify, if the scholar is in the top 10 percent of their class, or $500, if they are in the top 25 percent.

Texas A&M Commerce
Texas A&M Commerce
The partnership between CHISD & Texas A&M Commerce covers three main programs:
The President’s Promise covers the remaining balance of any tuition for 15 credit hours each semester for up to four academic years for first year students and for up to two years for transfer students (summer terms and non-A&M Commerce hours are not included). A&M-Commerce will also provide students in this program guidance from A&M-Commerce advisors, mentors, faculty and staff whose work is dedicated to student success.
The Quick Start grant will allow CHISD employees to attend A&M-Commerce to pursue graduate degrees through the Quick Start grant program. A&M-Commerce will provide a continuous $250 or $500 per semester grant, based on credit hours.
The Rising Lion Program allows CHISD graduating seniors to begin their A&M-Commerce experience in the summer. Those scholars are required to live on campus and participate in co-curricular experiences. They will be assigned a mentor as they prepare for the fall semester.
