Student Council Advisor

Hello Coleman Longhorns!

My name is LaConya Ponder and this is my 9th year in education and my 2nd year at Bessie Coleman. I am excited to teach Teen Leadership, Avid, and Financial Literarcy this school year. Teen Leadership is designed to help your child become a quality leader with a strong sense of who they are and where they are going. Avid (Advancement via individual and is a college-readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in College. Financial Literarcy focuses on providing our scholars with the financial basics needed in the real world. Bessie Coleman administrators, teachers, and staff place a high value on our students and want to help them develop personal, relational, and leadership skills. I believe all students have the ability to become future leaders and I am here to help mold them and help them reach their full potential.
