Parents must know:

Hello, my name is Mrs. Chereeta Wilson, your child's ELAR (Reading and Writing) teacher. I am excited to be a part of the Plummer family! I have about 14 years of experience in the educational field. I have taken on the roles of a Master Educator, Reading Specialist, Literacy Coach, Dyslexia Specialist, and Mentor to teachers and students, and Parent and Community Engagement Coordinator. I have also organized campus professional development, developed campus-wide reading programs and assessments, and became a strong liaison between families and school through various outreach programs I have developed from the ground up.
In my years in the education field, my resources and innovations may have changed but my teaching philosophy remains the same and yields me great success. I believe that all teaching must be data-driven in order to create unique individual learning plans for each student. Students are not only aware of their learning plan but set their own academic goals based on collected data and revisit their goals each quarter to celebrate and revise as needed. I believe that teacher implementation of instruction is key to students' understanding. I also believe students' assignments and assessment of knowledge may include various products to show their mastery i.e. oral presentation, digital documentary. Lastly, I believe that students must have the opportunity to share and collaborate their findings and clarify misconceptions/ unanswered questions with their peers and other experts as a means to growth.

As an educator, I firmly believe in implementing the best practices based on research. I believe that learning is interactive, innovative, and data-driven. My motto is for all students who enter my class to academically grow, achieve, and excel in and out of the classroom.

Thank you for entrusting me with your prized possession!
