Ms. Rickyl' Wesson
Ms. Rickyl’ Wesson is extremely excited about joining the Longhorn family!! Ms. Wesson began her career in education in 2010, in which she was a 7th grade Math teacher and the girls’ basketball and track coach in Keller ISD. The following school year she began serving the family, students and community of Lancaster ISD. During her 7-year tenure in Lancaster, she taught 7th grade math/girls’ athletics and became the TAP Math Master Teacher at Lancaster Middle School. She recently completed her third year as the Assistant Principal of Rosa Parks/Millbrook Elementary.
Ms. Wesson has had the opportunity to serve on district and campus improvement committees, district test writing committees, and campus instructional leadership teams. Her strength in Mathematics has allowed her to analyze data in a different light, and as a result, she has been able to have a powerful impact on student achievement.
As a teacher and administrator, Ms. Wesson has been able to capture the hearts of all of those around her. The relationships she has with students, staff, parents and the community have enabled her students to grow tremendously. She always leads by example, and lives by the motto “work hard and play hard”.
Ms. Wesson received her Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Texas Tech University, where she was a member of the Red Raider Track and Field team. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas at Dallas, and is currently seeking her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University.
Ms. Wesson has a four-year-old son, Kaden. She believes he is everything! She is truly blessed to have him in her life. He keeps her grounded, motivated, rational and busy. She is a member of the ultimate sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and during her spare time she loves to relax at home.
She is excited about being a member of the Plummer Elementary family, and is forever grateful for the opportunity.
