Ms. Erika Edwards

My name is Erika Edwards and this year marks my 12th year in education.  Born a Dallas native, and ultimately spending my secondary years in Cedar Hill ISD, I am a PROUD Cedar Hill Alumni. Although I began my career in education in Dallas ISD, I am happy to be apart of the Bessie Coleman family for the second year. I teach Girls 7/8 Physical Education and also coach Volleyball, Basketball, & Track.

I am very excited to continue encouraging, inspiring and supporting our scholars here at BCMS.  In my PE classroom (Gym A), I am committed overall to teaching health-related fitness and wellness components using skills, sport, and games. Physical education in school includes is discovering one's own likes, capabilities, and strengths. I believe that by particialion in PE, scholars grow, not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. Our PE department vows to promote a safe environment that encourages scholars to be engaged, and become bettter overall citizens in their communities.

I look forward to having your scholar in class and welcome communication and collaboration on making this a great year. Forever, a great day to be a LONGHORN!
