Greetings Lake Ridge family and scholars,
My name is Natalie Martinez and I am a SKILL paraprofessional for K- 2nd grade this 2018-2019 school year. This will be my first year as a special education aide at Lake Ridge, and I am thrilled to be apart of the LRE community!
This is also my first full year as a Texan, I am originally from Arlington, Virginia and Washington D.C. was my backyard. I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia class of 2016 as a Sociology major with a concentration in Gender Women Studies.
Since 2011, I have worked intensely in the school setting as a district substitute teacher, and as 2nd- 4th grade special education teacher's aide.
Since then, I have had time to manifest my passions which include writing poetry, performing spoken word, mentoring in youth advocacy and activism, and cooking/ baking for my loved ones. But my biggest passion is continuing my efforts as a humanitarian of all walks of life and of all ages! We are better together!
My journey starts with the students, fostering a safe learning environment while educating young minds as we watch them build towards success. I cannot wait to watch our scholars flourish this year! I am humbled to be apart of the CHISD Longhorn community and looking forward to a phenomenal academic year!
