Choir Room

Grades 6th, 7th, and 8th

Ms. Tyler is the sixth through eighth grade choir teacher at Bessie Coleman Middle School. She is the daughter of one middle school teacher and one high school principal. Tyler grew up in Shreveport Louisiana where she first found her purpose in music and singing. Her training during that time consisted of voice lessons, piano lessons, and viola lessons.

Prior to BCMS, Ms. Tyler attended Texas Woman’s University where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Music with a minor in Education. Ms. Tyler went on to student teach in Cedar Hill at Cedar Hill High School in the fall of 2016.

The goals of the choral department at BCMS include establishing students as literate musicians, preparing the young musicians for choral leadership at the high school level, and creating life-long learners in music and all areas of life. Ms. Tyler is looking forward to this year with you.
