Community-Based Accountability
In 2020, Cedar Hill ISD joined the Texas Public Accountability Consortium, or TPAC, with more than 50 other school districts across Texas to create a truer accountability framework to assess the District’s progress and measure its success.
District staff meet regularly with leaders from other Districts to identify and establish the components of a true accountability system that go beyond STAAR test scores to measure how districts prepare scholars for futures beyond what they can imagine.
Through the community-based accountability system (CBAS) process, the Cedar Hill ISD community will be empowered to define school accountability in a manner that more accurately reflects the diversity, talents, skills, and priorities of our scholars. CBAS recognizes and celebrates the whole child, reports on educational outcomes above and beyond standardized tests, and provides information to schools that drives meaningful change and improvement.
A CBAS empowers the community to be an active participant in the planning, identification, and reporting of the agreed upon expectations for its schools.
