Celebrating 120 Years

The Cedar Hill Independent School District celebrated its 120th school year when classes began on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Cedar Hill ISD started in 1904 when the district served a small, mostly rural Dallas County community. At the time, all of the scholars attended classes in a single building.

Cedar Hill grew over the years, and by the early 2000s, it had established itself as one of the premier suburbs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Cedar Hill ISD now has two high schools, three middle schools, and six elementary schools, serving almost 6,000 scholars.
