Welcome to Collegiate Prep Choir! I am so excited about the wonderful things we are going to do in choir this year.
This year I will have two different choirs: A Gospel Choir and the Honor Choir.
The gospel choir will be by sign-up and is open for all 1st through 5th grade. There is no audition process for this choir however there will be a limit of 50 students who are able to sign up.
The Gospel choir will begin on Wednesday October 2nd and continue throughout the first semester (until the end of December). The choir will meet every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 in the music room.
Because this is a gospel choir, please be advised that we will be singing Christian music. The rehearsals will be centered around this genre of music as well as Christian praise and worship music. Every rehearsal will begin and end in prayer. If you are not comfortable with your scholar in this type of environment, please do not sign your scholar up for this choir.
In order to sign up for choir, please go to the choir forms and documents page under music clubs. (see tab on the side of this page)
Once your scholar has signed up, they will receive a letter welcoming them to choir and form to fill out regarding contact information, rehearsal schedules, and performance dates.
Honor Choir will begin during the second semester from February to May of 2020. It is by audition only and auditions will be held in January. Auditions are held during the school day. If your scholar passes the audition, they will receive an acceptance letter with all of the information and forms to fill out.
Honor Choir is for 3rd-5th grade only and will meet from 3:00-4:15 every Wednesday after school in the music room. Please note that there is a $10.00 fee for this choir. This fee covers their T-shirt. This fee must be paid by the due date for scholar to be able to participate in this choir.
If you have any questions about choir, please don't hesitate to call me at ext. 6336. You can also email me at email@example.com. I look forward to an exciting year of singing with your scholars!
