Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Candice Griffin

I am a proud educator, and believe that every child deserves quality teachers and a quality educational experience. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.  Later on, I obtained my Master of Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.

I’ve had the pleasure of serving in multiple roles. My educational career started as a fourth grade teacher in Desoto ISD and I loved every moment. The journey continued to a charter school where I was an ESL and reading interventionist. I then transitioned into a master teacher at Adams Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD where I had the opportunity to coach and grow teachers. I then had the pleasure of influencing student achievement and teacher growth as the assistant principal at Alexander Elementary in Duncanville ISD.

Due to my commitment to students and families, I have been able to build long lasting relationships with both students and families throughout my time in education. My grandmother always used to say “Be the task great or small, do your BEST or not at ALL!” I will always remember her words. It is a mindset I adopted in all aspects of my career.

I am excited to serve the scholars and families here at Highlands Elementary.
