Under Texas Education Code 25.092, scholar's may not be given credit or a final grade for a class unless the scholar is in attendance for at least 90 percent of the days that the class is offered. We are here to support you in every way possible. If your scholar has a doctor's appointment or other excused absences make sure to turn in the documentation to the attendance office within 3 business days of the scholar's absence. The documentation can be dropped off at the front office or emailed to HPEAttendance@chisd.net. Without proper documentation the absence will be counted as unexcused, which may lead to a truancy filing with the courts.
