Synchronous Learning Explained
Synchronous instructional time was offered during the first four weeks of virtual learning. Scholars were able to attend live instructional times during the school day and feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive. As a result, a plan was developed to ensure we continue to provide the best instructional opportunities for scholars who will remain in virtual learning.
Beginning Monday, October 12, virtual scholars will have access to live synchronous instruction in grades Pre-K - 12. All teachers will communicate daily schedules for synchronous learning times directly with parents through their Schoology courses. We understand that it may not be possible for some scholars to participate in synchronous instruction due to family circumstances. Teachers will continue to record lessons and post videos to Schoology.
To ensure all scholars returning to classrooms on October 6th are properly trained in safety procedures, such as wearing face coverings and social distancing, no live instruction will be offered. Asynchronous instruction will take place the week of October 5 - 9. Teachers will upload videos and assignments to Schoology courses and continue to provide virtual support during office hours during this week. No live instruction will be offered, allowing teachers to focus on properly training and practicing all health and safety routines and procedures.
