Hello Highlands Family!

 

My name is Monica Balderas and I am excited to return to Highlands and serve as Assistant Principal.

 

I moved to Texas 25 years ago from Oklahoma. BOOMER SOONER!!  I have been married for 20 years and have 4 children.

 

This year began my 25th year in education.  I taught bilingual 1st grade for 13 years and bilingual 4th grade for 5 years.  Later, I served as a bilingual instructional coach for 6 years; five of those years right here at Highlands!  I graduated from University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and received my Masters of  Education in Leadership from Concordia University in Austin.
