What are the admission requirements for Collegiate Academy and High School?
Magnet Acceptance Criteria - Collegiate Academy & High School
Eligibility
- 80% average in core subjects (Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies)
- Minimum Measurement of Academic Progress MAP)
- 70% Math, 70% Reading
Required Documentation
- Most recent report card (for all students 2nd - 12th grade)
- MAP Scores or any norm-referenced test scores (for all students 2nd-12th grade)
- Existing IEP and/or 504 accommodation, if applicable
Magnet probation and dismissal
- All students accepted for one year
- Must meet discipline, attendance, and academic requirements (Transfer requirements)
- Probation
- Failure in core subjects-Teacher must implement the failure prevention plan
- 3 or more absences in a marking period
- 1 or more major referrals
- 80% average in core subjects (Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies)

Who is eligible to apply?
This year, Cedar Hill ISD will open the Choose Your Seat school choice program waitlist for new families from January 3-21, 2022.
The district plans to open the waitlist for potential Montessori prek and kindergarten families in April 2022.
Additional information on how to join the waitlist starting January 3, will be shared in early January.

My family lives outside Cedar Hill. Can we still apply?
The district offers open enrollment; families who live outside of Cedar Hill are eligible to apply. For more information on the out of district transfer process, please click here.

How do I apply?
This year, Cedar Hill ISD will open the Choose Your Seat school choice program waitlist for new families January 3-21, 2022.
Families with scholars currently enrolled in a choice program are asked to complete the intent to return form available in Skyward.

My child is currently enrolled in a Cedar Hill ISD Choice Program. Do we need to reapply for the 2022-23 school year?
This year, Cedar Hill ISD will open the Choose Your Seat school choice program waitlist for new families on January 3, 2022.
Current families are asked to complete the intent to return form by Dec. 17. Failure to do so could result in a scholar losing their seat for the 22-23 school year.
The district plans to open the waitlist for potential Montessori prek and kindergarten families in April 2022.

Can I apply to multiple programs with one account?
Yes.

How are scholars chosen for the programs?
Starting in January 2022, scholars who complete the application for available seats in a CHISD Choice Program are added to a wait list and selected through a lottery system.
Completing an application does not ensure enrollment.

Is there tuition?
The majority of the school choice programs are free. Kindergarten through 12th grade scholars attend for free.
Pre-K tuition costs $450 per month ($225 for current CHISD employees) or free for those who qualify. PreK tuition applies only to Lake Ridge Montessori Program, and Collegiate Prep Elementary.

When is the application window?
This year, Cedar Hill ISD will open the Choose Your Seat school choice program waitlist for new families between January 3-21, 2022.
Families who apply to the Lake Ridge Montessori, Collegiate Prep and Bray Elementary programs between January 3-21, 2022 will be added to a waitlist because limited spots are available.
The district plans to open the waitlist for potential Montessori and Collegiate Prep prek and kindergarten families in April 2022.

How will I know if my scholar has been accepted?
Parents will be notified via email regarding program admissions before March 2022.

Is transportation provided to CHISD Choice Programs from outside of the neighborhood attendance zone?
Transportation will not be provided to choice programs outside of the neighborhood attendance zone.
