Bray Blast for the Week of September 30th - October 4th

    Greetings Bray Families,

Thanks for an amazing week of school!   Wow, what a magical time we had at Bray's Fiesta Literacy Night! Thanks to our families for your participation and continued support for our scholars with literacy.  Furthermore, the scholars and professors are working toward excellence in the classrooms; you should be able to view some of the wonderful things on our social media sites.

Please adhere to the following announcements:

Arrival- Doors open daily at 7:00 AM. Breakfast is served and free for all scholars.  Furthermore, the cafeteria stops serving breakfast promptly at 7:30 AM; please ensure that your scholar is here to receive the best meal of the day.  Scholars are tardy at 7:30 AM; the attendance rate for our campus affects accountability and campus funding.  Most importantly, scholars are not available to receive quality instruction! It is imperative that scholars are present on-time daily.

Student Attendance- Attendance percentages for grade levels are as follows: PK-93%, K-93%, 1st-97%, 2nd-93%, 3rd-97%, 4th-97%, and 5th-93%.  The campus goal is 98% overall for student attendance; we are not exceeding our expectations as a complete family.  Parents, we need your help to achieve our goals!!!

Lunch Forms-Please completes the 2019-2020 school lunch form online at the district's website or you may receive a written copy from the front office.  This form MUST be completed each school year for your household. Click here to complete  https://childnutrition.chisd.net/.  If this is not completed, the final day for scholars to receive free lunch will be September 27th!!! Even if you don't feel that a qualification letter will be provided, please complete the form as it is pertinent to the campus for funding.  If you have any questions or concerns about the forms, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the administrative team.

Dismissal- Scholars are dismissed at 3:00 PM; therefore, scholars must be picked up by 3:10 PM.  If changes are needed to be made with the pickup method, please contact the professor as soon as possible.  Scholars that continue to remain on campus after 3:30 PM will be sent to Right At School after school care; there is a $25.00/hr charge for this care.  Early pick- up will be concluded at 2:30 PM if necessary.

Car Tags- At this time, each scholar should have received the appropriate car tag.  If this has not occurred, please contact your child's professor. At this time, you must present a valid form of ID to the front office staff to retrieve your scholar if you fail to bring your official car tag.

Benchmarks-Scholars will take district benchmark assessments as we are concluding the 1st 9 weeks.  Please ensure that the scholars get plenty of rest so that they are able to focus and demonstrate the skills that have been learned.  Since these assessments will be administered during the regular instructional periods, the campus lunch periods and co-curricular class schedules will remain the same.  Therefore, parents are permitted to eat with their scholars as normal. The benchmark schedule is as follows:

    Sep. 30th- 2nd-5th (Math)

    Oct.1st- 2nd-5th (ELAR)

    Oct. 2nd- 4th (Writing) & 5th- (Social Studies)
