The Cedar Hill Fire Department, Cedar Hill Independent School District and Dallas County Community College have been working to implement a Firefighting/Emergency Medical Technician training program for CHISD sophomores and juniors. The program is designed to offer interested high school scholars the skills needed to pursue a career in the Fire Service upon graduation.   Scholars who successfully complete the program will be ready to apply to area fire departments as firefighters. It also supports new prevention and intervention programs that have a positive impact on our youth.

The program will prepare participants' eligibility to the point where they are trained, certifiable firefighters with certifications upon graduation. The program will present interested scholars with a viable career opportunity upon graduation. Participants may have met minimum qualifications to apply for a firefighter position.
