Mr. Christopher L. Rhodes

Christopher Rhodes, Head Choral Director at Cedar Hill High School since 2006, has been teaching high school choir since 1997.  A child of an Air Force Officer, he has lived in Alaska, Germany, Massachusetts, Alabama, Virginia, and California before arriving in Dallas, Texas. Although he began his musical study in second grade with piano lessons, choral music has always been his favorite musical activity.

Before coming to Cedar Hill High School, Christopher Rhodes attended UCLA and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a double specialization in Vocal Performance (Baritone and Countertenor) and Music Education in 1995 and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting in 1997. He served as the Director of Choral Activities at Santa Monica High School from 1999 through 2005, when he relocated to Dallas, TX.

Under his direction, the Cedar Hill Choirs continue to achieve in the area of Texas All-State Choirs, UIL Solo/Ensemble Contest, and UIL Concert/Sight-Reading Contest. His personal hallmark is preparing students for the rigors of life beyond choir and beyond high school. Students graduating from Cedar Hill High School Choir Program often find that they are well-prepared for whatever life path they choose.

Mr. Rhodes truly enjoys working with the fantastic students at Cedar Hill High School and is deeply grateful to the parents of Cedar Hill for allowing him to work with their children through Choral Music.
