Dr. Katrina Lemons

I count it as joy to serve as the new principal of Permenter Middle School. Because I primarily view myself simply as a mom who wants to do what’s best for students, my decisions are both data and student driven. Prior to being named to this role, I served as a Special Education Compliance Coordinator in Cedar Hill ISD. Before becoming a member of Longhorn Nation in 2020, I served as an Assistant Principal in Waxahachie and Mansfield Independent School Districts. Between my time as a classroom teacher and campus administrator, I have served students and teachers in the middle school setting for 20 years.

I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston, a Master of Science Degree in Training and Development from Texas A&M University at Commerce and multiple educator certifications from the state of Texas. Currently I am pursuing an Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University with November 2022 as the projected completion date.

Our focus this year will be laser sharp with 3 primary areas of concentration: Scholar Safety, Scholar Achievement and Scholar Social and Emotional Well-Being. I look forward to partnering with others to ensure we are always aligned with our focus.
