To ensure that the students of Cedar Hill Independent School District maintain a high quality education in the absence of district personnel, we hire highly professional, notably reliable, creditably trustworthy, and outstandingly educated individuals as CHISD Substitute Teachers.
To qualify to be a CHISD Substitute Teacher, you must meet ONE of the following requirements:
60+ Credit College Hours
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
To apply for 2013-2014 New Substitute Teacher Positions
After submitting your application online, the following steps will be taken:
Each application is reviewed.
If hirable, we will send an email in reference to being fingerprinted. (If you have already been fingerprinted, this step will not apply.
Once the applicant gets fingerprinted and approved for hire, we will send an email in reference to the orientation date. (This step takes at least four days and up to three months for processing.)

AllRETURNING SUBSTITUTESare required to attend a substitute training class before returning for the 2013-2014 School Year. Please follow the steps below to reserve your place for an upcoming Returning Substitute Orientation:
You will receive an informational email with information in regards to the date of a substitute orientations, and information you will need to bring to class.
Please make sure to include your full name.
Once your information is received, you will be placed on a waiting list to attend a substitute orientation. The Substitute Department conducts one substitute orientation per month. Applicants and Returning Substitutes are selected to attend the orientations in the order that the application (Or return to sub request email) is received.
